- Climate Research Unit in Norwich provides climate data.
- Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) (U.S. Geological Survey USGS, NASA) : global digital elevation models (DEMs) with a horizontal grid spacing of 1, 3 and 30 arc seconds (approximately 30m, 90m (download) and 1 kilometer).
- Global Land Cover Characterization : the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) National Center for Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS), the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) and the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission have generated a 1km resolution global land cover characteristics data base for use in a wide range of environmental research and modeling applications.
